What We Do

Crude talc processing, grading and exporting has been the main Northwest activity since 2008. Meanwhile, by acquiring knowledge in talc business and a decade experience in trading, we have become the leading exporter of high-grade talc from Pakistan, providing long term sustainable supply solutions to our worldwide customers.  By acquiring in 2018 a share in the main Afghan Kandwalo talc deposit, NWM has entered in the closed circle of Afghan talc producers.

Since we are primarily engaged in the specialty talc products, Northwest Minerals monitors its supply chain from mine to market. Thanks to our skilled labor’s, supervisors and technical management team our range of specialties are produced through our various processing units at Jalalabad in Afghanistan, Peshawar sorting station and Karachi export facility in Pakistan. This logistic chain has been created to manage the stringent requirements of sophisticated talc applications.

Northwest Minerals extracts and procures its raw material from various fibre-free talc sources. Selectively mined in open pits, the run of mine talc is first roughly hand-picked at mining dumping yard to remove wastes (such as carbonate and country rocks). Upon arrival at Jalalabad processing facility, the raw material is hand-sorted, screened, sized and bagged before being dispatched to Peshawar, Pakistan.

At Peshawar facility, Northwest Minerals quality department conducts systematic sampling and testing on the arrival trucks to characterize the incoming ore (whiteness, b value and loss on ignition). Hand-sorting is conducted for grading according to specific needs of various talc applications in the international market. Fines and grains are also assessed, screened and sized to meet customer demands.

The above production is transported to Karachi export facility at Port Qasim and stored according to grades before shipments to international customers.
